Baptism

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

Why do we celebrate baptism?

Baptism is a celebration of God's covenant faithfulness to an individual. We celebrate baptism because of what God has begun to do- either in an adult or an infant- to express His grace to them well before they can fully understand it or even faithfully respond to it. In other words, it's a way of acknowledging that God is faithful to us before we are faithful to Him.
